We are back home after a tiring weekend with the Weber family. As I mentioned in the last post, Kate had her second baby shower on Saturday. Once again, I was left behind to entertain myself. But it was nice to get to visit with relatives before and after the shower that I do not get to see very often. Jack received a lot more nice gifts, and everybody behaved themselves. Even if my stepmom Rose did microwave candy bars in diapers and hand out prizes if the guests could guess what type of candy it was. I did not get to see them, but I guess the candy poo looked rather realistic. Hopefully it will be a while before we feed Jack nuts, though.
My aunts are very excited about a new baby coming into the family. They are already planning when they will be up this summer, and one is even using her vacation days to come up and stay. And it is not like they live on the other side of the country. They all live between three and five hours away. Our house should be full for the first couple of months of Jack's life. Now don't get me wrong. We enjoy the company, and I think it will be good for the baby to get used to being around a lot of people. The help and advice will be appreciated as well. Of course, Kate and I figure that between our parents, grandparents, aunts, and friends we will probably get to hold the baby sometime around July.
