Jack Meets Daddy's Crazy Family, Part 2

When I call my family "crazy," I mean it in the nicest, most loving way. They are a fun bunch to be around and family get-togethers at my grandparents' can get a little wacky sometimes. And they have always loved new babies. Of course, most people do. But they seem to get more excited than most. When I told my Grandma Weber that we would be down for Labor Day weekend, she immediately organized a lunch at her house and invited all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. Within a day, we started receiving phone calls, e-mails, and blog comments from my family trying to convince us that we love them best, and therefore they should be the ones to hold Jack first and the most. My Grandma W. likes to make fun of them all, but she is probably the worst. While we were there on Saturday, I found it strange that only my Dad stopped by to see Jack. I jokingly asked Grandma if she had told everyone to stay away so that she could have Jack all to herself. In response to my accusation, she became very shifty-eyed, mumbled an excuse, and quickly changed the subject. My Grandpa just giggled and confirmed my suspicions.
Come Sunday, everyone behaved themselves. Everyone shared Jack, and he survived being passed around and over-loved like the family's annual name-draw basket. A surprise visit from my cousin Jeff and his two-week old daughter Alexis also helped draw some of the attention away from Jack. (See the pictures below for how huge Jack looks next to a two-week old girl!)
Jack listens intently to one of Grandpa Weber's stories.

Blogger is being difficult. I will put more pictures in the next post.
