Mmmmmmm, Rice Cereal!

(I'll return to the family visits in a later post. But this is just too important to pass!)

Last Friday, Jack reached a major milestone. He had his first solid food--rice cereal. Granted, it was pretty soupy and gruel-like, but it was still a major accomplishment. Many people, including the doctor, warned us that it would take several feedings before he really accepted the food. Not this little boy. As you can see from the pictures below, he really enjoyed it. He gave a funny face and spit the first bite back out. But his eyes lit up as the taste settled in and his eyes lit up. After that, he would open his mouth in anticipation of the food. Now, he gets really excited when he realizes that it is cereal time. Bring on the Steak and Lobster!

(And sorry, no, it did not help him sleep through the night. More on that later.)
