More Jack and Homer

People seem to get a kick out of Jack and Homer's budding friendship, so here is more about Blackpuppy and his pal. (You can also see in this picture how much Jack likes to empty his toy basket.)

You can tell that they really want to play with each other, but their playing styles are not quite compatible, yet. Homer will bring come over to Jack with his favorite chew toy of the moment ("Cheap-Bo"--it cost $0.74), do puppy play-bow, and commence leaping about in circles. (Don't worry, he makes sure to do it far enough away that he does not trounce his little boy.) Jack thinks this is great and laughs. But Homer usually walks away dejected because Jack doesn't stand up and chase after him.
Jack usually wants to play with Homer in one of two ways. He offers Homer a baby toy that he has been chewing on, and poor Homer has to look away from the temptation because he knows Jack's toys are off limits. (Homer and Frankie have been unbelievably good about leaving his toys alone. Clara, on the other hand, attacks them with joyous abandon.) Jack also likes to roll over to Homer and climb on him. Of course, this usually happens when Homer is trying to take a nap. Rather than getting angry, though, Homer usually just sighs and looks pleadingly over to me or Kate to come rescue him.
As much as it looks like a posed portrait, this last picture was completely spontaneous. (I would hope that a posed picture would look a little clearer.) The shirt reads, "If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch."
