Pets' Memory

I am continually amazed at how our pets remember people. I do not mean friends or family that they see several times in a year, but people that they haven't seen in a long time. When our friends Colin and Amy came back from Paris last fall, I wasn't too surprised that the dogs were happy to see their friends. They had been gone a little less than a year, and Homer and Didge (their dog) were buddies that played together a lot. (Of course, since Didge became a Parisian dog, Homer is not quite good enough anymore.)
This last weekend, though, our good friend Jesse came over. He just returned to town after doing research in the Czech Republic for a year-and-a-half. Before he left, Jesse was one of Homer's favorite people and one of the very rare individuals that Clara likes. (Frankie loves everyone.) But Jesse hadn't seen them in a while, so we did not know what to expect. They missed him. When he got here, Homer and Frankie went crazy. Clara acted mad at him, like she does me when I have been gone for awhile. It was the most excited I have seen any of the animals in a long time.
Jack had never met Jesse, but he was still glad to see him
