In case you have not realized from my postings, Homer is a "special" dog. One of his favorite pastimes is to snuggle with his food. I know this may sound bizarre, but...no it is bizarre, let's be honest. Unlike other dogs, say Frankie, he does not immediately gobble down his food. Rather, he likes to savor it over the course of the day. And part of the savoring is snuggling up to a full bowl of food and snoozing. Of course, since Jack has become mobile, we have had to start putting his food in places that are not quite as convenient for Homer. (Right now, it has been relegated to the laundry room/garage hallway.) While Jack was napping the other day, we had it sitting out where Homer could enjoy it. When Jack woke up, Kate quickly set it up out of his reach. Later, we found Homer making a desperate attempt to be cozy with his food. It is hard to tell, but he is indeed asleep in these pictures.

Clara thinks that if any of the pets deserves sympathy it is her...

Poor Homer, indeed ... I guess that whole "lack of sleep" thing affects pets as much as it does parents!
