Greetings From Traverse City

We survived driving in the rain yesterday and made it Traverse City. We arrived a little later than we planned, but I guess that it is to be expected when dealing with dogs going to the kennel, deluges, an incompetent restaurant staff (Cracker Barrel), and a toddler.

Since we were all three tired from the trip (Jack did not sleep well the night before and napped for less than an hour on the way up) we took it kind of easy last night by hanging around our room, except to go out to eat. Jack was a complete angel at dinner. Actually, it was probably one of the best dining out experiences we have had in a very long time. He ate well and he behaved. Of course he made up for it this morning at breakfast, which was probably the most disastrous eating out experience we have ever had. He was in a foul mood and was randomly screeching. Halfway through the meal, he gagged himself and vomited everything he had eaten. It was not pleasant. But he is napping now, so hopefully the rest of the day will be better. When he wakes up, we will be off to Sleeping Bear Dunes for the day!

Jack and I took it easy last night and did a little reading. I thought David Mitchell's Ghostwritten was a tad advanced for Jack, but he seemed to enjoy it, nonetheless.
We bought some Cherry Chocolate Fudge last night. Jack and Kate really enjoyed it. (For the sake of staying married, I posted this picture and not the one of Kate enjoying the fudge all by herself.)This is the view from our hotel, Sugar Beach Resort.

And since our hotel is on a beach, and since I am a guy, our room view provided me ample opportunities to gaze at a fine example of Michigan Hooters this morning...
