Here we go with trying to play catch-up on the blog!
The week before Christmas, we attended a party/pitch-in dinner at Jack's daycare for the parents and children. As part of of the festivities, each "class" (age group) put on a little performance. This ranged from the infants sitting on laps looking confused while their handlers...er, I mean their teachers...sang, up to the pre-school aged children actually singing a song. Jack's class (the toddlers) stood there and shook jingle bells while their teachers did the singing. It was cute and entertaining, but mostly it was mass chaos. Tired kids were running everywhere while tired parents tried to be social with other tired parents in cramped quarters. (The "party" did not start until 5:30--on a Wednesday.) The last thing some of the poor kids wanted to do was "perform," especially the little ones. They hadn't seen their parents all day, and they were expected to stay on one side of the room and sing/dance with Mommy and/or Daddy in plain site. As you can see in the video (which starts part way into the song since I did not know they were starting) Jack is trying to escape to us while one of his teachers holds him back. Oh well, it was quite the experience, and hopefully the first of many more music related performances by my talented little boy.

Too funny! Poor Jack, being held against his will until he shakes the jingle bells enough times. Even better was the little guy who crumpled himself on the floor to escape.
Yeah. But to Jack's credit, supposedly during the "rehearsals," he was one of the few that was actually willing to participate. He just really wanted his Mommy by this point, though.
