How to Touch a Worm

A year ago, Jack really enjoy playing outside that much. He would either be afraid of the grass, or spend the entire time trying to eat dirt. So far this summer, however, we have been having a grand time working in the yard.

Now if only his Mommy will let him play with worms. I was digging a new flower bed earlier this week (maybe for hostas?), and of course there were a lot of earthworms about. Kate was reluctant to let him touch any, but as I pointed out he is a boy. So she relented, but Jack apparently was not as brave as he thought. He did eventually touch one--with a rock. And as soon as the rock lightly made contact with a worm he dropped the rock and cried, "Hold me, Mommy! Hold me!'

He certainly looks all boy in the pictures!

Yeah. He really is turning into the stereotypical boy--cars and trucks, rough-housing, being loud, etc.
