Initiation

Yeah. Two kids. Wow.
We were ready for Amelie to be difficult her first night home...but Jack ended up not sleeping a lot either. Kate and I spend a good portion of the night running between the three bedrooms. (Amelie slept in a bassinet in our room, but Kate was feeding her and changing her in her room.) At one point, just to get Jack to sleep, I slept in his toddler bed with him for a couple of hours. I can't find a picture of it right away, but it is something like 4 ft. long.
It's going to be entertaining, that's for sure.

We did have one really nice moment after dinner tonight, though. Amelie was awake and not fussing or eating--just chilling on my lap. And Jack was happily playing independently. It was one of the most calm and peaceful moments we have had in a long time.
Tomorrow should be entertaining--we have to take Amelie back to St. John's for her checkup. And it is supposed to snow. A lot.

I haven't uploaded the pictures I took today, yet, so these are from yesterday. Is anyone else having difficulty moving pictures around in blogger?

Kate snuck up on me and took this one. No, I am not sleeping while holding the baby. Lucky me came home with both a baby and a migraine.

Hmm, I'm assuming that you meant to title this post "Initiation" but hey, you're going on zero quality sleep and a migraine. I'll cut you some slack.

Darling pictures of the wee one -- especially the one with Jack sitting and staring at his baby sister.

Congrats Joe, Kate and Jack! She's precious! I hope your family gets adjusted to the new addition quickly so you can all get some rest!

She is so sweet. I actually think the one that Kate snuck of the 2 of you is quite adorable. My favorite pictures are of my Boys. Sorry to hear you came home still feeling crummy, I recall you thought you were coming down with something right before she came. Hope you're feeling better now, or at least better enough to function.
