(Just to warn you, I picked the perfect time to lose our camera cord, so no pictures yet.)
Well, she's here. Amelie Isabelle Weber was born at 11:49 p.m. Friday, February 13th. She weighed 9lbs 5oz and measures 22.5 inches long. Lily is one big girl.
I'll do a proper story post (hopefully with pictures) later, but for now this one may seem a bit Twitterish.
Because she is a bigger baby, they worried that she would be at risk for low blood sugar--and they were right. She is currently in the Special Care Nursery (same place Jack had to go) where they are trying to normalize her levels. I guess this is fairly common with bigger babies, so they are not too worried and think she will be able to come back to the regular hospital room sometime tomorrow morning. We should be able to go home tomorrow night or Monday morning.
**Notes on her name.
Okay, so picking a French name is proving to be a bit of a mouthful for some people. Here is your guide to her name.
Pronunciation: ah-may-LEE
Meaning: Hard working/industrious
Huh, that sounds familiar...
Title of a movie (and main character) of the French movie Amélie.
Where's the accent?
Those of you who speak French, are probably pointing out that we forgot the accent aigu (é) is missing. Kate and I discussed it, but she argued that it was a sure way of Detroit messing up her birth certificate, etc., etc. I lost that battle.
But you can call her Lily, if you want.
To Jack, she is his Peanut.
To me, she is my sweet little Lily Belle.

Congrats! Love the name, love the pictures, can't wait to meet her!!
CONGRATULATIONS to you, Kate, and big brother Jack!
I love Lily Belle as a nickname too! Thanks for the pronounciation hints, we were having a bit of trouble. When we were trying to pronounce it, Chris just called her Baby Obs (he calls Emily J. -Obs). Eric started in with "Amelie Baby-lee, zeebledee boobledee, Amelie baby-lee, Zeebledee Bop!" Thought you'd appreciate.
