We find ourselves often comparing how similar Amelie is to how Jack was at a similar age and how different. I'm sure this is a normal parent thing to do, but it keeps us amused.
For instance, here are a some pictures of Jack when he was 10/11 weeks old.

And Amelie at 12 weeks

Okay, Amelie was not quite as sleepy as Jack was in the photos, but you get the idea.
In other ways, they are like night and day.
Amelie is already sleeping better than Jack did well after he was a year old. Granted, she is not sleeping through the night, yet, but we can lay her down drowsy and she will go to sleep. It was a long time before the little man came close to that. She also likes to take naps, which he still does not.
I guess overall Jack was not a "calm" baby. It seemed like he always wanted to be walked around, sung to (college fight songs and Sousa marches if I remember correctly), and was cranky quite a bit.
Amelie, on the other hand, is a very mellow little girl. She tends to take everything in stride and cheers up quite easily, even when she is getting tired. But then there is the temper...
When she does get mad, she can be quite frightening. She turns beet red, her whole body shakes, she holds her breath for a bit, and then she lets out these horrendous screams. It's quite a site. I used to think that Jack had a temper, but it is nothing like this.
The funny thing is, Kate's temper is the same way. She is generally very calm, and it takes a lot for her to lose her temper. But when she does, well, we generally want to hide.
I've never seen her scream, bu just ask her about the Mandarin Orange Incident some time...
(Okay, in all fairness Jack's moods and sleeping habits are an awul lot like mine. )

OK, seriously, when I read the comments preceding this sentence about Amelie's temper, I immediately thought that it sounded just like Kate! Always mellow, but when she's mad, LOOK OUT!
Amelie does look similar to Jack, but she is so clearly a little girl in the face.
