Decade in Review: Favorites in Movies

Okay, so I am a complete sucker for Best Of and Worst Of lists. After seeing a bunch of them, I felt compelled to do my own lists. But as I am want to do, these are favorites and not necessarily the "best," since I have not seen every movie, read every book, or heard every song. I'll try to limit it to my top 10 in each category, but I may go over. It's my blog, I can do whatever I want to.

To start, here are the movies. I'm sure I forgot some, but these are the ones that really stick out in my mind. The top three are in order, but random after that.

Kill Bill 1 and 2 (2003 and 2004)--I love to bore people about how smart the music choices are.
Lord of the Rings Trilogy--Loved it when we had a marathon and watched all the extended versions in one day. And remember, favorite, not best.
Children of Men (2006)

Wall-E (2008)
Requiem for a Dream (2000)
Pan's Labyrinth (2006)
Oldboy (2003)--Such great direction.
Hero (2002)--Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is making most of the lists, but I think Hero is a much better made film.
Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain (2001)
In the Mood for Love (2000)
O Brother Where Art Thou? (2000)--I started to put No Country for Old Men...but I do so love this movie.

And as a "Super Special Bonus!" these comedies that I could watch over and over again crossed my mind when I was making the list:

Kung Fu Hustle
Shaun of the Dead
Anchorman
Best in Show
