We've done the "feed the Lorikeets" at zoos before, but not at Cincinnati.
Maybe the ones here are just a little crazier, but my were they aggressive.
Or maybe they were just really hungry since we did it first thing in the morning. I should have known it was going to be entertaining when the guy selling seed sticks and nectar chuckled and mumbled, "Good luck. You are the first one with nectar this morning."
Kate had the camera out right when they...swarmed me.

They liked Jack's seed stick, too. He thought it was funny to have them crawl on my neck.

And chest.
After awhile, Jack was starting to get a little weirded out by their aggressiveness. I had enough of them when they started pulling down the collar of my shirt and plucking my chest hair.

Amelie did not like the
Lorikeets, but she was really into all the other animals. She is getting so big. She was able to say almost all of the animals names after we told her what they are called.

Love Love LOVE that first picture. I got bit by a macaw once, and those pretty birds can HURT! I know it couldn't have been fun to be attacked by a lorikeet, but maybe someday you'll laugh about it.
Oh, I was laughing about it while we were there. It was pretty funny. There were a lot of other people in there that were trying to coax them to eat, and there I was performing my own little Alfred Hitchcock movie.
OMG, you shaved your goatee! That is far more shocking than the Lorikeet attack. You look younger.
Do you like how I sneaked that in there? So far, it is not a popular move around here. Jack told me, "It's not right. I don't like it. Daddies have mustaches and beards. What Daddy doesn't have a mustache and beard?" And he's right. Every father he knows, has one.
I told Colin to read the post and tell me what was different. He was really confused and then finally said, "Well, Joe shaved..." like it was no big deal. I guess he doesn't think you look as different as I do!
I clearly remember when my dad shaved off his mustache. I was either a pre-teen or a teenager. It was one an earth-shattering moment for me! Dad without a mustache? That's crazy!
Sorry, I didn't even notice about the whiskers...I was busy watching the Attack Birds. You do look younger, then again, we knew you when you had hair on your head. ;) Eric has only shaved once in the time I've known him, and he grew it right back, not because I asked, because he just felt weird without his whiskers. Guess he's just another whiskered Dad. That's Really Cute.
