Nature Trails at Winton Woods

Hamilton County has some pretty awesome metro parks. In Wayne County (MI) they were...okay, but they seemed to have more emphasis on the "metro" than they did the "park." The closest one to us here is Winton Woods, and we love it. Last weekend, my sis in-law's family came to visit and, despite the 90+ heat, we decided to attack the short nature trail. The kids thought it was great.

They thought the signs were cool, since each one had a different animal. (Click the picture to make it bigger.)

Of course, Kyler freaked Jack out by telling him there might be snakes and bears.

So we made Kyler "protect" him.

The only animals we saw, though, were a butterfly, a frog, and some minnows.

We did spot some busted beaver dams. (At the extreme right of the picture.)

Amelie seemed content in her stroller, but she was actually bored and wanted to walk like every one else.

And she did for a very impressive distance.

Jack started wearing down at the end, but he still enjoyed himself.
