Chomper Jr. and the Standing Man

Jack had a stretch of not doing anything noticeably "new" or particularly newsworthy--other than being the cutest and coolest baby, of course. But the past couple of weeks have been rather eventful.
--He is not crawling, yet. But he is up on all fours rocking. After rocking a bit, he gets frustrated, plops down, and just rolls to where he wants to be.

--His teeth are coming in rather rapidly. We have started naming his teeth, just to keep it straight which ones we are talking about, since we do not know the proper tooth names. The first two were The Front-bottom Teeth. The next one on top, off to the side is Chomper (a joke from The Simpsons). Right after Chomper came in, he started working on its cohort on top on the other side--Chomper Jr. And then, one of the top front ones started coming in--Chomper Jr.'s Friend. On Christmas morning Chomper Jr. came through and Chomper Jr.'s Friend broke through this morning. That's right, his FIFTH tooth and he is not even eight months old. Needless to say, it hasn't been all that fun since he has been teething almost continuously for the past month. And it looks like Chomper's Friend may be gearing up to make an appearance as well.

--Finally, last night Kate and I were getting Jack ready for his bath. She set him down in his crib while she went to run the bathwater. I was down stairs taking the dogs out. We both walked into his room to find him standing at the side of his crib. I was trying to figure out why Kate propped him up to stand and then left the room when she looked at me and me and asked, "Did you stand him up?" I reminded her that I had been down stairs and told her to stop joking around. She wasn't. Little boy had pulled himself up all on his own. I was looking forward to sitting back in the recliner with a book, but ended up having to lower his crib mattress instead. He he is growing up too quickly!
