--Jack has not been sleeping very much. For over a two-week span, he woke up between 3:30 and 4:30 every morning. Keeping him up later did not help, it just made him more grumpy. It would not have been so bad if he was napping to make up for it, but no luck. Needless to say, he has been quite a grouchy bear. I would like to think that he is just getting bigger and does not need as much sleep. But besides the grumpiness, you can tell he is really tired. Last week, Kate was embarrassed when we went to the mall because he had such big dark circles under his eyes. He finally "slept in" this weekend...thanks to the time change. Of course, last night he stood in his crib and screamed until what would have been his normal bedtime before the time change. Sigh. For the parents that read this blog, do you remember how much sleep your children had around this age? (9-11 months)
--After being the best little eater anyone could ask for, he discovered that he could be picky about his food. Of course, he has not been very consistent about what he does not like. (I think there is a correlation between being tired and this new-found pickiness.)
-- We still have had lots of fun despite the grumpiness. His poor little knees are getting rough from all the crawling. And I discovered that my poor little knees are getting rough from crawling around with him. I will try to post a couple of videos of him dancing and playing sometime in the next couple of days.
--I rediscovered why I am not meant to be an athlete. I have been feeling bad about being completely out of shape and have wanted to start running again. So what do I do? My first time back out running, I step in a hole and twist my ankle. I think I had a slight sprain. It has been over a week and, though I am not limping anymore, I am still a little gimpy. At least it happened on the weekend and I had a couple of days to let it heal before I was on my own chasing after Jack.

A friend of mine gave us a book on sleep habits for babies ... I'll loan it to you guys to see if there is any wisdom to be found inside.
That book is Healthy Sleeping Habits, Happy Baby. Carlos also recommended it to me and, after using its principles with two kids, he swears by it.
Perhaps a clue that I am tired would be found in the number of typos and grammatical errors in this post. Geesh.
