That night we had our own little party and he opened the rest of his presents from us. And Chompin' Mike the Mower upholds the dictum that the more annoying the toy is to the parents, the more fun it is for the kids.

Birthday Boy--The Actual Birthday
Though the party was Saturday, Jack's actual birthday was Sunday. After our family left that morning, we had a nice quiet day of just the three of us. But we decided we needed to do something since it was Jack's special day and all. So we walked down to the little park that is in Belleville. This was not his first time at a park, but it was the first time that he could actually swing and do park things. By the time he was big enough last fall to enjoy a park, it was getting too cold. We did not stay long, as this park is really not that great. They do not have a separate area for the really little kids, and the toddler swings et. al. are mixed in with the "big kid" equipment. So, little guy was constantly almost getting ran over by hyper big kids and it was hard for him to really enjoy the slides and stuff. He still had a good time, though.
Despite the look on his face, he really did like the slide and would clap when he got to the bottom.
Relaxing in the yard after a long weekend.
