The Library of Congress has a great retrospective of political cartoons from Herb Block. It's amazing how many of them, with few modifications, could easily be in today's newspapers.
I've tried very hard to keep my Blog politics-free, since it is mostly about Jack. (Although I didn't intend it to be that way in the beginning.) Those of you out there that know me well also know how hard it is for me to keep my mouth shut. Of course, that being said I also do not like campaign yard signs, bumper stickers, etc. After all, we don't want Jack being denied candy at Halloween.
I'm not going to tell you who to vote for. Just be sure you do. I have heard many people say that they may sit this one out, since they do not like "either" candidate. Don't forget the other parties, though! Four other candidates are on the Michigan ballot, and I am sure they are on in other states. They may not have a snowball's chance, but having these "third" party candidates at every election ensures the wide range of views of the American public are heard--even Chuck Baldwin, who scares me a bit.
So who am I going to vote for? Well, I think I may have finally decided after wavering between two or three of the candidates. Considering that I am an extreme left intellectual elite tree-hugging-friend-of-the GLBT(Q?)-community-socialist (and "Godless" to Elizabeth Dole, I'm sure)...well, I'll just let you figure it out.

You can make a difference.
YES. YOU. CAN. :)
I don't remember all the details on this anymore. But, if a third-party candidate gets enough votes (5% of the popular vote?), they can be considered a legitimate major party for the next election cycle. In other words, they can participate in the debates, get federal money to support the campaign, etc. So, even if you're not a fan of the big two, always consider helping one of the little guys.
Hopefully someone can fill in with all the details on this...it's been a long time since I've read them!
Egads. I call myself the intellectual elite and leave it that badly written with so many typos? Shame on me.
Colin, I can't remember the rule either, but I think it has to do with being allowed federal campaign funds.
