New Years Eve (And Feeling Old)

We celebrated New Year's Eve in what has become our traditional manner -- eating fondue (cheese and chocolate) and spending the evening with the Rousts. Kate and I were not the best hosts this year, though, I fear. Midnight was a lofty goal for a pregnant woman who had woken up at 5 to go to work. Poor Kate and Amy, there has been only one New Year's Eve in the last four years when one of them has not been pregnant--and they have been able to sample tasty home-made beverages together.

It was really fun watching Jack and Elle play together. Jack was very excited for Elle to come visit, and he couldn't wait to play trucks with her and teach her how to dance. Before they got here, Jack was showing me all the dance moves he wanted to teach Elle. It's really neat how as the two of them get older, the age difference becomes less noticeable.

Jack seems to be doing a lot better about sharing. Of course, the toys he gave her were the ones he really did not want to play with, but still.

They were good enough to play with Peanut, too. (And yes, Kate will beat me for putting this picture on here.)

Jack was determined to teach Elle "Ring Around the Rosie."

And here is a gratuitous Cute Toddler with Animal picture.

You guys were great hosts, as always. I was actually thinking that we were no-good lazy bum guests while we were there. I don't know what our deal was -- we were just in such a daze from the holidays! Guess that means we'll just have to make it up to you when Peanut arrives.

Oh, how about AMY for a middle name? LOL
