So Jack came down with a horrid stomach flu Saturday evening and woke up every 15 minutes for a large portion of the night.. I think the best way to relate how eventful our night was with him is through the laundry. I did three loads between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. just to keep up with his fluid expulsions (both ends). This is about the sickest I have seen him, the poor little guy. He seemed to be doing a lot better when I left this morning, though. His fever was gone and requested a little food.
Kate remarked Sunday morning that, despite her wish to be done being pregnant, Peanut could wait at least another week until we catch back up on our sleep and Jack is better.
Well...
Kate had her (now) weekly check-up yesterday. She is dilated 4 cm and 80% effaced and in what is considered the -1 stage of labor. (No, I don't know what the last bit means either--past she is about ready to pop.) The Dr. said it would be nice if Kate could wait until she (the Dr.) is back from her two-week vacation to have the baby...but everything would be find if the baby decides to come THIS WEEK.
Yikes.

I've heard of pregnant women getting double bucket at the end, but not Sympathetic from family members. Poor Jack Jack. That double bucket business is for the birds, give him lots of extra hugs from us.
Doesn't "-1 stage" refer to the baby being one centimeter (or some other small distance) from entering the pelvis and the birth canal?
It sounds like its time to start keeping the gas tank full Joe :)
