DaDa, Jack, and Peek. (Mama?)

Yes, Amelie is talking. She has been saying "DaDa" for awhile. Sometimes it just seems like it's just a noise she makes, and other times it is very clear that she is referring to me. For the past few weeks she also has been saying "Acghk!" when she sees/wants Jack. That has started to morph this past week into a sound that resembles "DaDa" (Dacgh!) but has a distinct difference. She kind of goes back and forth.

While we were eating dinner the other night, she held her little tag blankie up in front of her face, pulled it down and yelled, "Eeeghk!" We said "Peek" back and she became excited and started doing it some more.

And then there is "Mama." While Kate is thrilled she is starting to talk...I think she wishes "Mama" was a more regular girl. We would think that she can't say it, but for a few instances when she has let it slip amidst other babbling. And there have been two times when Kate has came home after a long day at work and Amelie shouts "Mah-ee!" (Apparently she did this at daycare once, too.)

I actually think the little girl is having fun exasperating her Mommy by not saying it.
Kate tries very hard to get her to say it, and this is usually the result...

Well, she's a stinker for not saying Mama, but she is still stinkin' cute!!!
