Halloween 2009

Goth boy? No, just purple icing on a Frankenstein cookie.

She's mad at me because...

I was making her sit up straight to get the pumpkin onesie in the picture. This is what the other dozen I took looked more or less like.

Jack Trick or Treated at school on Thursday. Friday night was the "official" night of it in Belleville, so we walked down to Main Street to get candy from the businesses. Apparently, the citizens of Belleville collectively thought it was dumb to have Trick or Treating the night before Halloween, so everyone hit the businesses Friday night, and then went around to the homes Saturday night. People were generally confused.

Here is us getting ready to head downtown. I am looking at the ominous rain clouds headed our way. At least it was in the low seventies, so the temperature was nice and the rain more or less held off until we were walking back.

And no, Jack is not Thomas the Tank Engine. He is James the Red Engine, one of Thomas's friends. He was a tad exasperated from all the people calling him Thomas. James was his third choice. He wanted Edward or Toby (or Gordon?) but we didn't see costumes of them.

Amelie was going to be a Ladybug, but I returned the costume the day before because it was supposed to storm Friday night. And we didn't realize there would be more to come Saturday night. Or that the weather would be okay Friday. Oh well. She had a great time watching the people in their costumes. Speaking of which, a lot of people had their dogs with them as part of their costumes. Okay, I get that. Put the people that brought their llamas with them? Yes, there was a couple that took their llamas Trick or Treating. (Sorry, no pictures.)

Jack standing in line to get a treat from the bank. He's being a scary train.

He got a spider.

Getting ready to go out again (boy wasn't he happy) on Saturday evening when it was over thirty degrees colder than the previous night.

"Take picture of me driving the train!"

Okay, so we dug around and found Jack's old monkey costume for Amelie. It was sized 18 mo. but we made it work.

While Jack likes to go around to the houses, his absolute favorite part is handing out candy.

When he would see kids walking down the sidewalk, he would start yelling for them to come get some candy.

When we ran out of candy a little before seven (the longest we have lasted, yet) we turned off the lights, made some pizza, and watched a not so scary movie--Pinocchio.
